Welcome to New Freelanders! Introduce Yourself.
Please share your knowledge, learn and treat others as you would like to be treated. It is our hope as we face the economical blow back of nearly a hundred years of failed monetary and foreign policy that we can build an online community here that can be used to prepare for the rough times ahead and get to know our neighbors and those we might be able to work together with to get through what ever may come our way.
We would encourage folks to get to know others in their own areas and use this forum to communicate plan and eventually meet for workshops, barbecues, camp outs, shoots, and trade skill and ideas etc.
As we grow into a large community I will try to upgrade as needed. Thanks.

Introduce yourselves
Hi everyone welcome and please introduce yourself. I will be setting up a permanant site for this forum but in the meantime I wanted to get things rolling and get all the vast knoweldge of folks out there flowing.
Some might wonder why I set this up since there are already a number of similar self reliant or prepardeness type forums. Well I have been on some of those forums for over ten years and some are pretty good. However since I have been on Daily Paul I have really been impressed with the caliber of folks there and have felt more at home there then on forums I have been on for many years... Since DP does not have a forum dedicated to Self Reliance I thought I would create one. I hope to attract the same caliber of people there and the level of talent and willingness to live and let live. Nothing is perfect but with your help we can make this the best self reliant forum on the web. Thanks.

Hi, I'm Katie. I live in PA and at the moment live in the city. My fiance and our 4 kids are planning to move out to a small farm within a year or so if we can get all the approvals, zoning, permits, etc. in order. Our goal is to be off-grid and self-sustaining in every way. I'm not only motivated by an impending doom but I'm also sick of handing over more and more money to big corporations. In addition to growing our own food I'm learning to make my own soaps, hygeine products, and even cloth. We're planning to raise chickens, turkeys and goats. I think this forum is a wonderful idea and looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Hi, I'm Pat. I'm a gma. My hubby, Larry and I live in NE Oregon in a very rural county. We have 40 acres and are working to be self sufficient.
I am considered a radical on many of the groups I'm on both due to my political leanings and beliefs and my belief in the use of alternative medicine over allopathics.
We have been very supportive of Ron Paul and involved in his campaign here in Oregon, mainly in our county.
I look forward to learning from others here, and sharing when I can.
I have been real proud of the young people who have gotten involved in supporting Ron Paul.

Re: Welcome to New Freelanders! Introduce Yourself.
People may remember me from Timebomb2000 and (briefly) on "The Tree of Liberty" forum.
I asked to be removed as a member of TB2K after 10 years of posts because the forum management turned into a bunch of crazed neocons. The Tree of Liberty stint was brief because they are even crazier.
I voted for and worked on the Ron Paul campaign. I still have a 4'x8' sign. I've followed Dr. Paul for years.
As a Free State Project member, I moved to New Hampshire in 2005 from Josephine County Oregon.
I'm not as prepared as I'd like, but we're starting!

Hello All,
I'm Jody. My husband Jim and I live in Texas, the northeastern part. We have 100 acres on which we breed and raise Spanish Colonial horses.
We are conservative-beyond-conservative in our political stance.
As with a previous poster we also prefer to use herbals and alternative meds and are considered 'nuts' by some. That's ok..to each his own.
We didn't get around to planting a vegetable garden this year and will rely on our local farmer's market. All these Chinese imports worry us considerably. In the past I have had fruit trees and a huge garden. I canned a lot of veggies and fruits and froze much as well. I made the garden pay for itself by taking bushels of things to our local market.
Nice to meet all of you.

I am paul4won, a Ron Paul Republican. My husband and I live in a small town in Idaho and were proud to stand with all the conservatives in Idaho to bring an "End the Fed" plank to our state Republican Party Platform. With that backing us, we intend to apply all the pressure we can on our representatives to follow through. We also are trying to "bring it home" by hosting "FED FREE parties."
We threw everything we had into the Ron Paul campaign and will proudly carry the message to the RNC! We hope everyone will come "get our backs" by attending Ron Paul's event at the same time.

An Introduction
Hi All,
I joined this forum after reading a post by 'hawkiye' (Blayne?) at
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/69422
It seems that most of you are off-the-grid kinda folks - I seem to shudder at the hard work that would go into that kinda life style (though it could be different- I wouldn't know for sure unless I tried it out, I've always lived in appartments/cities) Moreover I live in Toronto, Canada where the political situation is much better. My long term goal would be to move to, or make a 'different' grid ( from that of the govt) to put it figuratively. A starting point would be to barter good and services (even better if we have our own monetary system that is superior to the existing one) with 'like' minded folks as mentioned by hawkiye in his posting.
I work as a programmer primarily making websites.
A briefing of my views (which is never complete )can be found at http://geocities.com/dennisfreethinker/

Welcome aboard Dennis,
I like the ideas on your page. Actually most of us are not off grid but some of us might like to be. Folks are at varying degrees. The point is to get started and do what you can.

Re: Welcome to New Freelanders! Introduce Yourself.
Hello everyone i'm brandon. I spent alot of time this last year trying to wake people up to hear Ron Paul's message but discovered most of them dont want to hear it. But the fact is that as long as we work 9-5, pay our taxes, get big loans, use frn's, vote in these sham elections, etc, ect, all we are doing is investing in our own slavery. I want to be done with that. Freedom awaits, but i dont think its at the legislature's steps.

Re: Welcome to New Freelanders! Introduce Yourself.
A republic is a 2 class country where one class rules and the citizens follow. I don't vote for anyone who believes we need a republic. In fact I think voting is a crime. If the creator didn't give me power over others, how can I vote to give that to a government. Eric WhoRU has the correct interpretation of the CONstitution. We the people refers to the writers(white wigged aristocrats) of the document. Citizens are subject to the jurisdiction thereof. I moved 7 yrs. ago to a small town in central Texas and am making myself very valuable here with all my construction skills. I'm just about finished putting in a disc golf course for our community. If I can help people get fit I will be satisfied. The economic demolition and planet x will change our world. Be fit, be ready. Peace, Larry Mann I am
